Nobody’s land: Arrival
Co-production VOSTO5 & Vzlet
Their land is far from all people. Or is the distance just a dream, and they live right next to you, outside your window, behind the wall of your apartment? It’s a territory that can be found only with precise coordinates. They live in these distant realms all their lives and few people know it.
Every day, ambassadors of our land go to their territory to hire them their hands and feet, and then leave them again alone, thinking. For thinking is the only free act. They don’t need anyone to do it.
In appearance they resemble human being, but in characteristics they are somehow different. They need two bodies to exist, to be free. They control the light with their voice, open the door from a distance. Is such a life even possible? Can you actually live when all the activities are performed by strange hands? And what if there is no other body within reach?
The dramaturgical series Nobody‘s Land was created at the end of 2021, when we decided to open Vzlet to new projects of various formats that deal with forgotten or neglected groups, places, and problems. The series, inspired by Daniel Prokop’s book Blind Spots, is intended for young creators either still at school or fresh from graduation. The last project of this year – the production Arrival with five disabled people – premiered in November 2022.
